SUMMARY: Supervises and coordinates activities of Loan Operations personnel to successfully book and maintain the entire CVNB loan portfolio. This is achieved in part by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  • Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances. Adjusts errors and complaints.
  • Performs or assists subordinates in performing duties.
  • Prepare the collateral file report from all branches for Sr. Lending Management’s review.
  • Troubleshoot all computer issues relating to the loan portfolio. Interact with Jack Henry helpdesk to open and track cases until a resolution is achieved.
  • Monitor for compliance to the policy, sick and vacation time for the loan dept.
  • Prepare special reports as specified by Management.
  • Correspond with all areas of the bank concerning loans.
  • Communicate with customers and resolve any issues concerning loans, loan payments, etc.
  • Correspond with Banks involved in Participation loans when necessary for loan repayment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supervises five employees in the LOAN OPERATIONS.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, recommending for hire, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training, preferably in a Jack Henry core environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Experience within a Jack Henry software environment is strongly preferred. Extensive loan department experience and ongoing training. Above average computer skills.
